bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaYou know...there is something about this. I love how is stands so strong and up front...great dept of field! 22 Jun 2008 6:03am @bluechameleon: Thanks for your comments. I wanted to give focus on the rock but give association to the beach and ocean. @Ekaputra Tupamahu: thanks :-) lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaGreat depth of field Matt and I like your tones too. A very strong looking photo, very solid. 22 Jun 2008 9:50pm @lisa v: thanks Lisa. this happened after I walked around the beach & headland for one hour with my camera in my bag. I needed to "take in" the place before I shoot any frames. This was just my imagination playing around and "we" had fun ;-) lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaI commend you on your patience, I could never wait that long to start shooting, not since I have digital, course film was a different matter. 23 Jun 2008 6:10am @lisa v: I know what you mean as I think digital cameras allow you to take "too many photos" and some are taken without much meaning between the photographer and the subject. I like patience. I want to camp out on a remore mountain and wait for a photo. lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaYes you're right, I take way many more photos than I did when all I had was a film camera. My daughter-in-law and I were discussing aspects of this recently..how lazy you can get with a digital and editing at your fingertips, how the art of it is being lost... and you know I still think my film slr took better shots than my digital slr. 23 Jun 2008 11:01am @lisa v: yes I agree totally and then you have all these images... what do you do with them all ? thoughtfulness and meaningfulness in choosing what to photograph definitely pays off !! Tamara from Fort Myers, FL, United StatesYou know, I JUST got a digital camera myself, and I have been finding myself taking many more pictures (of course, cause it is so much easier!) and yes, it does make us somewhat lazy with it.. but at the same time, it helps me to try the shots I normally wouldn't have "wasted" on my film camera for fear that it was "stupid." 23 Jun 2008 2:50pm @Tamara: Tamara, you make a solid point here. I admit that when I bought a digital SLR I learned so much more about photography very quickly. By making some silly mistakes I learned so much more. So in hindsight while digital has improved my skills and knowledge I have turned to film more. You're not babbling either. You rock too Tamara and all the best for your big day !!! |
