@gbe: thanks mate. yes colour slide is so unforgiving on exposure. I'm still learning here.. Thanks again !
this might sound a bit weird but i like the lighting and the texture of the door :D

@qassio: no not at all weird ! I do too. I should have exposed for his white chef's shirt but the door distracted me ;-)
A very gentle looking soul. Did you learn any authentic Japanese recipes you'd like to share? ;)

@Tamara: all secrets of the school I'm afraid Tamara ;-) oh he's Vietnamese too. Although their culture does have some Japanese influence. How are the storms over your way? you guys all ok there????
The chef, in a work of black and white, always a work to apply on your premise.

@Siam: Thank you Siam
Aw, dang it! Leave it to me to make such a faux pas! ;)
Thanks, Matt! We are doing good here so far! I'm afraid Louisiana isn't so lucky right now. I think they are evacuating.

@Tamara: its ok :-) stay safe
I adore vietnamese food, it's one of my favourite cuisines..apart from the brightness of the shirt I really like your composition and the expression on his face

@bluechameleon: You are way too kind to me Blue. This was shot on the hop. We had just finished a class. He stopped the class to look at my cameras. Then we talked about him leaving Vietnam to travel and work abroad but he has responsibilities to his younger siblings. As I walked past I saw him just like this. I asked if I may take his photo and he moved away from the door, but I asked him to resume his position exactly as it was. Shooting on colour slide film is very unforgiving. I should have exposed for his white shirt, but I didn't and I am not at all worried cause sometimes a good photograph is more of a memory than a perfectly exposed or sharp image.... ok I am off my soapbox now ;-)
He's a great cook, I can tell from the picture!
