The lighting, contrasts are superb but what I like best is the "naturalness" of this shot - the wetness at the edge of his mouth and that wee comfortable smile for his Dad.

this is an excellent portrait - lighting and tones are perfect
I would almost consider cropping the left side to get rid of that highlight although maybe it adds a little balance to the composition and overall image - regardless - great shot!
